Too often we disobey and ignore our Lord. Beyond accepting Jesus as Savior, we must be passionate about remaining in His love. Good parents love regardless of disappointments. The Heavenly Father always loves. We don't decide if the love will be present; we decide if we will stay in such a state that we recognize and appreciate it. Are you passionate; are you committed in serving the Lord? Too often those who accept Jesus miss out on the blessings of a Christ-centered life. Do not grab your certificate to heaven and run. Yes, Jesus is in the "saving business," but He also wants to equip you with gifts to use for His purposes right here and now. Jesus says . . . "If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love . . ." How do you remain in God? Obey Him! That means we must spend time with Him . . . Listening to His voice, reading His word, serving His people. If God has instructed you to follow Him in any way - maybe you felt Him move through a worship service, maybe your Bible study teacher, or a sermon you heard spoke directly to you - these are ways God speaks to us. If you heard Him and have not followed, you are disobeying your Lord and you are not remaining in His love. Obey Him! Do as His word instructs; follow the leading of His Spirit. Remain in Him. Your faithful service comes with a bonus which brings us to this question. "What will be the outcome?" I enjoy the fact that Jesus knows our nature. He knows the questions we want to ask. Because He knows these things, He tells us what we will receive for serving Him. Certainly, the disciples, like us, wanted the bottom line. They surely thought, but didn't ask, "What will be the reward?" Did you catch that? If we recognize God's love for us, call upon Him as Lord and remain in Him by obeying Him, we will have complete joy. Not just joy - complete joy. #ordinarylives
