Here's another sample of my new book, Genesis Three World.
Enjoy!

After referring to our world as the Genesis Three World one Sunday, I received an inquiring email from a sincere-in-heart church member. Upon pondering my comment, she sent this question, “Do we live in a Genesis Three World, or do we live in an Acts One World?” This was my response to that email …
Thank you for reaching out with your question. When I refer to the world in which we live as the Genesis Three World, I am recognizing that sin continues to impact the world. Indeed, as Jesus said, Satan is the prince of the world (thankfully, however, not the King!). Jesus defeated him on the cross. As we wait for the second coming of Christ the Victor, we are secure in our salvation, but also still impacted by sin.

To answer your questions:
  1. You are not seen as a sinner. You are a daughter of God who (like all of us) continues to sin.
  2. We live in a world that is both “Genesis 3” and “Acts 1.” The victory is won but the battles continue.
When I say that we are in a Genesis Three World, it is also a reminder that we live not for this world but for the next.
We live in a Genesis Three World and an Acts One World. We also live in a John Three World. After providing the biblical record of Jesus’ conversation with Nicodemus, the Pharisee with an open mind, John added explanation – explanation that contains what became the most well-known words of Scripture.
John 3:16-21 (NIV)
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.
