Redeeming Love

Should you so choose to repent, believe, and confess, the Christ will be your Salvation. Your salvation, a gift of God, will restore you to Him. In his well-known song, William Cowper rejoices in the restoration.
There Is A Fountain
William Cowper (1731-1800)

There is a fountain filled with blood
Drawn from Immanuel’s veins
And sinners plunged beneath that flood
Lose all their guilty stains

E’er since by faith I saw the stream
Thy flowing wounds supply
Redeeming love has been my theme
And shall be till I die

Cowper knew the truth found in true Scripture that Jesus loves us even while we are yet sinners. Paul, the apostle, knew that as well.
1 Timothy 1:15 (NIV)
Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst.
Was he really the worst? Not by the standards of the world. I can think of several examples of worse people – by my judgment. But my judgment is not God’s. He sees us as we are – sinners in need of grace. Therefore, He sent His Son. When we receive His Son, we begin a transformation. Through the power of the Spirit, we become more and more like Jesus. Jesus guides us as we live for Him.

Christ is the One for Whom we should live.
Saint Patrick’s Breastplate is said to have been composed by Saint Patrick in preparation for the victory over Paganism which was completed on Easter Sunday in 433. The words were translated into English verse by Cecil Frances Alexander in 1889.

Saint Patrick’s Breastplate
Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me;
Christ within me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me;
Christ to the right of me, Christ to the left of me;
Christ in my lying, Christ in my sitting, Christ in my rising;
Christ in the heart of all who think of me;
Christ on the tongue of all who speak of me;
Christ in the eye of all who see me;
Christ in the ear of all who hear me.
