While enjoying a weekend with my wife and longtime friends at their cabin a few weeks ago, I looked through a stack of newspapers left by the previous owner to serve as fuel for the woodstove. If you are unfamiliar with those names and items for sale, Google will fill you in. As I read the paper, I was transported down the proverbial memory lane to days of my childhood. Much has changed since those days – some for the better (Spotify rather than 60 cassettes, for example) and others for the worse (some of the entertainment options, for example). Through all the changes, some things have stayed the same. For example:
No matter how many and to what degree things change, these four truths will remain. For that, I am exceedingly thankful.
